Game 13:  SHA Rage 7 – Rockford Jr. Icehogs 2

  • In a game that featured a pair of 0-2-0 teams, it was the Rage prevailing on the strength of a HAT TRICK by POE F – Tyson Laventure!  He now has 4 goals.  Another player who we need to watch is Saskatchewan defenseman who played with IHA last fall – Michael Neumeier who picked up 1-3-4.  Kyle Bochek, also of IHA had 1-1-2 as did Saskatoon’s top forward in this age group Alex Bernauer.  Zach Burfoot had 1-1-2 for the Rockford squad.

Game 12:  Team Manitoba 5 – Stars Elite 5

Both teams entered this showdown undefeated and they leave undefeated after a wild 5-5 tie.  The line of Eric Alarie, Skyler Bruce and Aidan Litke could be a preview of what is to come for the RHA program in the fall and if this tournament is any indication, RHA will be in fine shape.  Skyler Bruce picked up 2-1-3, giving him 6-7-13 in 4 games while Eric Alarie had 1-3-4 to give him 8-10-18!  Aidan Litke, the 3rd member of that line had 1-4-5 to give him 4-9-13.  For the Stars Elite, 2004 born Matthew Savoie had a HAT TRICK to give him 5-4-9 in 3 games.

Game 9:  Stars Elite 6 – Minnesota Playmakers 1

  • The Stars Elite continue to show why they are a favorite to win this year’s NAHC after moving to 2-0-0 with the 6-1 win.  Joe Palodichuk broke the shutout with under 2 minutes remaining and now has 3 points in 3 games for Minnesota.  The Stars Elite top line of 04 top ranked prospect Matthew Savoie along with high end 03’s Sean Tschigerl and Cole Sillinger were the difference.  Savoie had 2-1-3 to give him 2-4-6 while Sean Tschigerl had 1-2-3 to give him 2-3-5 and Sillinger with 1-1-2 and has 4-1-5.  A couple players from the team’s 2nd line with Hayden Wilm and Dylan Guenther had 1-1-2 as well.  In goal, Eli Andrews was very busy – stopping 45/51 shots while Jackson Fellner was NOT busy stopping 13/14.
