The Kamloops Jardine Blazers entered the Dallas Saunders Memorial Tournament as one of the favorites and they made good on that prognosis in winning the Dallas Saunders Memorial Tournament.  It was the 3rd tournament championship for the Jr. Blazers this season and the 2nd time the Jr. Blazers have won the Dallas Saunders Tournament in the past 4 years. The Jr. Blazers also received a bit of unfortunate news as Talon Zakall broke his arm and will be likely out for the year.  Kamloops went a perfect 5-0-0 with round robin wins of 5-3 over Abbotsford, 8-5 over Mission and 7-0 over North Vancouver and then a semi-final win over regular season league rival Prince George 4-2 and then the 6-2 win over the Arizona Bobcats in the final.

2003 born star forward Logan Stankoven who received our vote as the tournament MVP.  Stankoven has had a tremendous rookie bantam season and will be one of the top players to watch for the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.  Both Adam Niles and Bailey Monteith were solid between the pipes for the Jr. Blazers as well.
